Today Mom & I took Amelia to East View Mall to get her ears pierced!
We had them done at Piercing Pagoda.
It was one year ago today that I found out I was pregnant with her, and thought this would be the perfect celebration!
There are a ton of photos of our little adventure...
so here we go!
Isn't she sweet!
The woman who did them was AMAZING!
This is the little distraction she let Amelia hold!
Yeah... she had NO CLUE what was coming her way :(
She liked the lady to begin with!
Marking the spots!
"ok... this is getting a little weird. I am not so sure this is a good thing..."
Ear #1 ... left ear.
I had to hold her like this. The lady said, "the tighter you hold, the better the piercing" ... I held tight.
It took a moment, I think in stunned her a little, but she let out a cry like I have never heard before. It was SOOO SAD. :(
Getting ready for ear #2... the right ear.
By this time, Amelia knows exactly what is going on... and is NOT happy about it.
ALL DONE!
Is this not the saddest thing you have ever seen?
HUGE crocodile tears...
.... I even cried.
"What did you do to me Mama?"
She got LOTS and LOTS of kisses and snuggles.
This is just a few minutes after... still a little sad...
There we have it!! Amelia getting her ears pierced!
We walked down and found a bench so I could nurse her.
She was such a trooper!!
I have not heard a peep about it since!
She was so good tonight about letting me
clean them and turn them!
They are SO CUTE!
I am so glad we did them!
(just as a side note... I just checked the details of these photos... from the first to the last there is only a 10 min gap. Yup.. all this happened in the span of 10 min!)

She is such a sweat heart! Thanks for sharing! <3
Poor baby... but super cute baby! Your hair is getting so long!
Suzanne,
I think you’re a smart and thoughtful mommy for getting your dd’s her ears pierced as an infant. She will thank you later for the “gift of pierced ears.”
Our Ped gave me some ” Tips for moms having their dd’s ears pierced and ” Care for Newly Pierced Ears” since she had so many moms ask about having their
infants and little girls ears pierced.
I know cerebrally, as mothers of girls of all ages, we know it celebrates their femaleness and femininity. After all, they are little girls, right?
If any other moms would like any of our ped’s tips for piercing, then don’t hesitate to write me an e-mail. They include OTC meds to minimize any discomfort as well as how to find the most experienced person to pierce her ears.
